Keeping a safe distance

Luckily since the UK Election I have been holidaying in Canada whilst my family have a gap year or two over in their native land. I say luckily, as I can watch the fall-out from the last election from a safe distance.

Last week’s Commons vote on the bombing of Syria was a sad moment for UK pacifism and the UK in general. Most sane people understand that bombing people just creates more terrorist and more bombing.

I am also please to witness the complete opposite evolution of government from here is Canada. The new Liberal party seems to select ministers on merit rather than who they know. My Belarusian colleagues have also noticed, highlighting the religion of the new defence minister as topic of debate in their office.

For now I can only wait for the UK population to realise their mistake and appoint some decent people back into office.
